Our Weekly Veterans Breakfast is a cherished tradition at Santa Barbara American Legion Post 49. Held every Wednesday morning from 0800 to 0945 hrs, this gathering offers a warm and welcoming environment where veterans can come together to enjoy a hearty meal, share stories, and build lasting friendships. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow service members and start the day with camaraderie and support.

The Veteran Outreach and Support program is at the heart of our mission to serve those who have served. We provide a range of services aimed at assisting veterans with their unique needs, from navigating VA benefits to accessing healthcare and employment resources. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to ensure that veterans in our community receive the support and recognition they deserve, fostering a network of care and assistance.

Boy Scouts of America (BSA)
We proudly sponsor Boy Scout Troop 33 and a Boy Scout/Sea Scout Ship, providing young people with opportunities for adventure, leadership, and personal growth. Through our partnership with the Boy Scouts of America, we help nurture the next generation of leaders by promoting values of integrity, citizenship, and community service.

American Legion Boys/Girls State
Our American Legion Boys/Girls State program offers high school students a unique and immersive experience in government and leadership. Participants have the opportunity to learn about the workings of state and local government, engage in mock legislative sessions, and develop a deeper understanding of civic responsibilities. It’s an inspiring program that prepares young people for future roles in public service.

American Legion Oratorical Contest
The American Legion Oratorical Contest encourages high school students to develop their public speaking skills and deepen their understanding of the U.S. Constitution. Through this competition, participants have the chance to earn scholarships while honing their ability to articulate their thoughts clearly and persuasively. It’s a fantastic opportunity for young people to engage with important civic issues and build confidence in their public speaking abilities.
